SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Asahi Kasei plans to shut its 100,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant in Kawasaki from 23 September for a turnaround, a company source said on Friday.

The shutdown will take around 47 days, and the plant is expected to be restarted in the middle of November, he added.

Asahi Kasei usually schedules a major turnaround once every two years and hence the next shutdown is likely to be in 2014, he said.
