SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Kumho P&B Chemicals is planning to shut its No 2 and No 3 bisphenol A (BPA) plants on 9 October as scheduled, a company source said on Friday.

The 130,000 tonne/year No 2 line and the 150,000 tonne/year No 3 line, both located in Yeosu, will restart production at the end of October, the source added.

Both lines are currently running at full capacity ahead of the three-week shutdown.

The company’s No 1 BPA plant has been shut indefinitely since early 2009.
