LONDON (ICIS)--European September dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) reference prices increased by €37/tonne ($47/tonne) from August to €1,025-1,066/tonne FD NWE, in line with the €60/tonne increase on upstream paraxylene (PX), according to an assessment by ICIS on Friday.

The Europe September PX contract settled at €1,190/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe), up by €60/tonne from last month's contract.

The third-quarter contract price for methanol, a secondary feedstock for DMT, is €340/tonne FOB (free on board) Rotterdam, a rollover from the second quarter.

The DMT prices were assessed on a FD NWE basis.
