HOUSTON (ICIS)--US chlorovinyls firm Georgia Gulf will supply InPro, a manufacturer of door and wall protection, washroom systems and commercial surfaces, with bio-based compounds, it said on Friday.

Georgia Gulf said that it developed rigid and flexible vinyl compound products that are non-phthalate and heavy metal-free – in compliance with InPro’s environmental requirements.

Georgia Gulf’s flexible compounds also meet the standards for the US Department of Agriculture’s bio-preferred label, meaning that more than 25% of the vinyl product is made from renewable resources, it said.

The compounds Georgia will supply to InPro include bio-based non-phthalate plasticizer from renewable chemicals firm Segetis, it added. Georgia and Segetis are collaborating on the development of bio-based flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Financial or volume details were not disclosed.
