US MX September contract jumps by 40 cents/gal

MIAMI, Florida (ICIS)--The September mixed xylene (MX) contract rose by 40 cents/gal (€.08/litre) from August to hit 4.10 alongside strong demand and tight supply, industry sources said on Friday.

Meanwhile, MX spot prices were heard at $4.55-4.60/gal (free on board) on Thursday, higher compared with $4.05-4.25/gal on 7 August.

Major US xylene producers include BP, Chevron Phillips, ExxonMobil, Flint Hills and LyondellBasell

 ($1 = €0.79)
