SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics Corp (FPC) has raised its October benchmark offers for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) by $30-50/tonne (€23-39/tonne) from September, in view of a cost push amid high feedstock ethylene prices, a company source said on Monday.

Its offers for October shipments increased by $30/tonne to $1,020/tonne CFR (cost & freight) CMP (China Main Port) and by $50/tonne to $1,080/tonne CFR India, the source said.

In addition, FPC’s October offers to southeast Asia were lifted by $40/tonne to $1,040/tonne CFR SE Asia, and its October export offers to deep-sea markets, such as the Middle East, are up by $30/tonne at $990/tonne FOB (free on board) Taiwan.

FPC’s total export volume for October shipments is around 60,000 to 65,000 tonnes, industry sources said

A quantity discount of $10/tonne is applicable for volumes of 1,000 tonnes to India and 500 tonnes to other markets, the sources added.
