SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>India’s Gulshan Polyols Ltd has yet to resume sorbitol exports as shortage of hydrogen gas prevents its 60,000 tonne/year facility from running at full capacity, a company source said on Monday.
“[Gulshan Polyols] will be out of the export market for awhile because we are unable to push the operating capacity to maximum,” the source said.
The company is currently operating its sorbitol facility in Gujarat at 80% of capacity, as hydrogen supply remains insufficient, the source said.
Gulshan Polyols, which is India’s largest sorbitol producer, has halted exports since 27 June because of production issues.
The company’s current output is just enough to meet domestic demand in India, the source said.By: Ryan Yue+65 6780 4327
