LONDON (ICIS)--European liquid epoxy resins (LER) contract prices for September settled at €2,490-2,550/tonne ($3,192-3,269/tonne) FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe), up by €80-100/tonne because of higher feedstock costs, sources said on Tuesday.
Although the price of benzene went down by €35/tonne in September, it increased by €108/tonne in August, which epoxy resins producers have tried to pass on.
Solid epoxy resins (SER) contract prices are up by €50/tonne at the low end to €2,470-2,500/tonne FD NWE.
Some producers said they have had no difficulty passing on €120-150/tonne increases, but this was not confirmed by buyers. Most buyers and traders said September contracts increased by €80-100/tonne, and only on a few occasions by more than €100/tonne.
