HOUSTON (ICIS)--US glycol ethers (butyl glycol and butyl di-glycol) exports in May increased by 4% from the same month a year earlier, according to data released by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Tuesday.
US exports of butyl glycol (EB) and butyl di-glycol (DB) fell to 12,895 tonnes in July from 13,377tonnes in July 2011.
Exports decreased in July mainly because of decreased amounts of EB and DB sent to Taiwan and Korea.
July exports also decreased from 20,219 tonnes in June.
United Arab Emirates at 2,068 tonnes was the major destination for glycol ethers exports, followed by China at 2,000 tonnes, Taiwan at 1,399 tonnes and Korea at 1,228 tonnes.
Other destinations included Thailand, Japan, Mexico, India, Indonesia and Canada.
