SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Xiangsheng Group is currently running its new 400,000 tonne/year at Suqian in Jiangsu province at 60% of capacity, a company source said late on Tuesday.

The line was started up on 9 September and is expected to produce on-spec polyester stable fibre (PSF) within the week, the source said.

On 11 September, on-spec production of intermediate product – polyethylene terephthalate (PET) chips – was achieved at the new line, the source said.

The company expects to run the line at a reduced rate of 60% for months because of poor market conditions, the source said.
