The plant has a nameplate capacity of 300,000 tonnes/year PP, 350,000 tonnes/year of high density PE (HDPE) and 450,000 tonnes/year of linear low density PE (LLDPE).
The plant was scheduled to achieve on-spec production towards the end of the August or early September, following the start-up planned for around mid-August. However, it is now uncertain when the new plant will produce the on-spec product, the source said, adding that the delay was normal for a new plant.
A source from the eastern branch of parent company PetroChina said that the new plant will begin normal operations in late September.
Fushun Petrochemical also has a 140,000 tonne/year HDPE plant and a 90,000 tonne/year PP plant located at the same site.
