SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Daesan MMA will shut down its 90,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant in Yeosu on 17 September, a company source said on Thursday.

The unplanned shutdown is due to mechanical trouble, the source added.

The plant will be shut for five days and will restart production on 21 September.

It is running at full rates, the source said.

Daesan MMA is a joint venture between Japan’s Mitsubishi Rayon Co (MRC) and South Korea’s Honam Petrochemical.
