Russia's production of ferts, plastics expected to rise in 2015

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia's overall production of fertilizers and plastics is expected to increase in 2015, the Russian authorities said on Thursday.

In 2015, the country's total output of mineral fertilizers is due to go up by 17.1% as compared with 2011, according to a mid-term economic forecast released by the Russian Economic Development Ministry on Thursday.

The country's plastics production in 2015 is expected to be up 22.5% from the 2011's level, the forecast said.

In 2011, the country's total output of mineral fertilizers was up by 5.1% year on year at 18.8m tonnes, according to the Russian statistics agency Rosstat.

Last year, the country's plastics production was up by 9% year on year at 5.4m tonnes, according to the agency.
