“The cracker began the restart process today [Friday] and is expected to have normal operations within one week,” Lin said, adding that the start-up was on schedule.
The unit was taken off line on 15 August this year for a planned turnaround.
The company is not expected to ramp up No 2 cracker to full capacity for the remainder of September as there are downstream units at the Mailiao complex that are still shut, Lin said without providing details.
