China’s Transfar Synthetic Material to build BD plant in east China

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China-based Transfar Synthetic Material Co plans to build a 100,000 tonne/year butadiene (BD) plant in Wudi county of Shandong province, according to a company statement on Friday.

The plant will be located at Lubei High and New Technology Park. The company did not disclose any construction details for the BD plant.

The BD plant will supply the company’s 100,000 tonne/year butadiene rubber (BR) plant, which is currently under construction in Jiaxing of Zhejiang province, east China, the statement added.

Construction of the company’s BR plant began in December 2011 and will be started up in early 2013, it said.

Financial details for both plants have not been disclosed.

Transfar Synthetic Material is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Transfar Chemicals in Zhejiang province.
