NOON SNAPSHOT – Europe Markets Summary

LONDON (ICIS)--Here is Monday’s midday European oil and chemical market summary from ICIS.

CRUDE: October WTI: $98.90/bbl, down 10 cents/bbl. November BRENT: $116.45/bbl, down 21 cents/bbl
Having hit a four-month high on Friday, crude prices eased off a little on concerns that the high prices could curb demand.

NAPHTHA: $990-994/tonne, down $11/tonne
The cargo range declined from Friday evening on softening crude oil values and a weaker crack spread. October swaps were assessed at $974-976/tonne.

BENZENE: $1,420-1,460/tonne, down $20-40/tonne
September opened lower this morning as oil and energy numbers faltered. October was backwardated at $1,330-1,360/tonne.

STYRENE: $1,790-1,810/tonne, up $60-65/tonne
September traded this morning at $1,800/tonne amid ongoing tightness. October opened at $1,720-1,760/tonne but later moved up to $1,760-1,800/tonne.
