China’s Yantai Wanhua to shut Yantai MDI plant for maintenance

SINAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes is planning to shut its methyl di-p-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) production facility at Yantai in Shandong province on 6 October for regular maintenance, the company said on Monday.

The plant turnaround is expected to complete on 5 November, according to a company statement filed to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Its plant at Ningbo in Zhejiang province will continue operating normally during that period, the statement added.

The Chinese producer operates a 200,000 tonne/year MDI plant in Yantai and a 900,000 tonne/year MDI plant in Ningbo, according to ICIS data.

Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes, which is a subsidiary of Wanhua Industrial Group, is the largest producer of MDI in Asia.
