SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>China’s Xinjiang-based Guanghui Energy will participate in the bidding of shale gas exploration rights in China to identify new growth segments in the energy sector, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
China offered 20 blocks for shale gas exploration in its second auction for the tenders on 10 September.
As Guanghui Energy is a private enterprise, its participation in the bidding of the shale gas exploration marks a milestone in China’s plan to boost private investments in its energy sector, according to industry sources.
The Chinese firm was formerly known as Xinjiang Guanghui Industry. It specialises largely in the production, transportation and sale of liquefied natural gas (LNG), coal as well as oil and gas. By: Fanny Zhang+65 6780 4359
