HOUSTON (ICIS)--Dow Chemical reported flaring from its Freeport complex in Texas, citing an ethylene compressor shutdown in a public filing on Tuesday.

The compressor was restarted and the plant was stabilised, the company said in the filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

Dow has two crackers in Freeport with a combined 1.6m tonnes/year of ethylene capacity.

A company spokesperson confirmed a brief shutdown at the site, but added that there was no impact to downstream businesses.
