SINGAPORE (ICIS)--PetroChina’s Hohhot Petrochemical is planning to start commercial operations at its new 5m tonne/year crude distillation unit (CDU) at Hohhot in Inner Mongolia in late October, a company source said on Thursday.

The Chinese refiner commissioned the CDU on 8 September, according to the source.

Hohhot Petrochemical expects to run the CDU at around 60% capacity in the beginning, the source added.

The refiner's CDU, along with some auxiliary units, can produce around 1.66m tones/year of gasoline, 2.25m tonnes/year of gasoil and 200,000 tonnes/year of jet fuel, the source said.
