SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Dongying Hebang Chemical Co will begin trial runs at its new 120,000 tonne/year epichlorohydrin (ECH) unit in Shangdong province in November, a company source said in Friday.

Construction work at the unit at Dongying city is expected to be completed in October of November, the source said without specifying a date for the start of the trial runs.

Financial details of the new plant were not disclosed by the source.

ECH is a key feedstock for epoxy resins, which are used in the manufacture of adhesives, coatings, paints and structural parts required by the automotive and aerospace industries.
