SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's CNOOC Gas & Power Group plans to shut its 600,000 cbm/day liquefaction facility for liquefied natural gas (LNG) at Zhuhai, Guangdong province on 25 September, a company source said on Friday.

The company plans to shut the plant for about 20 days of routine turnaround, the source explained.

“We are running the [Zhuhai] plant at about 33% capacity on 21 September, and it is expected to run at full capacity before the shutdown to build up stocks,” the source said.

The maintenance is expected to have minimal impact on China’s LNG market as demand is weak and the company will continue to supply LNG during the period of its plant maintenance, said a south China-based gas trader.

CNOOC Gas & Power Group is a subsidiary of China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC), China’s top LNG importer. It is largely engaged in gas and power business.
