HOUSTON (ICIS)--US refiner Valero has shut down the gasoline producing fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit at its Houston refinery in Texas, a company spokesman said on Friday.

The shut down is in preparation for a planned turnaround at the 88,000 bbl/day refinery, Valero spokesman Bill Day said.

The planned work will last for eight weeks, according to Day.
