HOUSTON (ICIS)--Flint Hills Resources (FHR) is shutting down its Port Arthur cracker in Texas on Friday for a planned turnaround, the company said in a public filing.

The 621,000 tonne/year unit is expected to restart in the second week of November, according to the filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

An FHR spokesperson earlier this week declined to comment on the turnaround.

Two other crackers in Texas are scheduled to go down for maintenance in the next few weeks, while a third unit in Louisiana is scheduled for a shutdown in the fourth quarter.
