Venezuela PDVSA fire still burning, no petchem impact reported

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Venezuelan state-run oil company PDVSA said it hoped to put out a fire at the El Palito refinery on Friday .

PDVSA said the fire, which began on Wednesday, occurred when lightning struck two fuel storage tanks. The fire at one of the tanks was out out on Wednesday, but the other fire continued.

No impact to petrochemical operations was reported.
