SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>China’s Shandong Jianlan Chemical is operating its 210,000 tonne/year 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) plant at Zibo in Shandong province at 70-80% capacity, following its restart late on 21 September, a company source said on Monday.
The 2-EH plant was taken off line for scheduled maintenance on 12 September, the source said.
As the plant start-up is likely to ease the tight domestic 2-EH supply, prices are expected to stabilise or decline slightly in the near term, a market player said.
Prices of 2-EH in east China were assessed at yuan (CNY) 13,550-13,600/tonne ($2,147-2,155/tonne) on 21 September, down by CNY100/tonne from CNY13,650-13,700/tonne on 11 September, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
