HOUSTON (ICIS)--TPC Group lost electrical power at its Houston Operations in several areas of the plant after an electrical power outage that took place during the weekend, company officials said on Monday.
TPC officials said the power outage resulted in flaring and smoke coming from the stacks at the facility.
TPC officials said air monitoring around the plant has shown that there was no need for additional action from people living near the plant.
The plant is southeast of downtown Houston.
The director of corporate communications said the company is working with local emergency agencies and Harris County Pollution Control, which is normal protocol in situations such as this.
Company personnel are working to restore power as soon as possible.
