HOUSTON (ICIS)--Delta Airlines’s Trainer refinery in Pennsylvania has started producing jet fuel, the US-based company said on Monday.
Delta said the production started as scheduled. The airline did not reveal how much jet fuel it would be producing at the refinery.
ConocoPhillips, the refinery’s former owner, shut it down last September. Delta bought the 185,000 bbl/day refinery earlier this year and runs it through its Monroe Energy subsidiary.
Delta previously said it expects to save about $300m/year (€231m/year) in fuel costs once the refinery is at full capacity.
