SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Polytama Propindo’s 380,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant at Balongan, West Java in Indonesia, is still idle because it has not been able to obtain feedstock propylene, a company source said on Tuesday.

The producer had been operating the plant intermittently since August 2009 because of a lack of feedstock, the source said.

Polytama Propindo used to obtain feedstock propylene from local petrochemical major Pertamina, the source said.

But he declined to comment on what led Pertamina to cut the feedstock supply.
