SINGAPORE (ICIS)--India’s Finolex Industries Ltd. (FIL) is running its 130,000 tonne/year VCM-based polyvinyl chloride (PVC) line at Ratnagiri late at 100% of capacity after restart over the weekend, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The vinyl chloride monomer (VCM)-based PVC production line was shut in early August as the storage of feedstock VCM at the Ratnagiri port was prohibited during the monsoon season, the source said.

The unit was brought back on line on 23 September and production was ramped up slowly to 100%, the source said.

FIL’s other 130,000 tonne/year PVC line at the site that feeds on ethylene dichloride (EDC) is currently running at full capacity, the source added.
