HOUSTON (ICIS)--Dow Chemical expects flaring and air emissions to occur this week while recommissioning an ethylene pipeline at its Freeport complex in Texas, the company said.

The pipeline will be recommissioned using a portable flare with 99% efficiency, according to Dow's filing on Monday with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

Dow said in the report it expected the plant to release carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and ethylene during the recommissioning between Monday and Thursday.

Dow did not respond to a query by ICIS.

The company had filed another TCEQ report on its Freeport operations on 18 September, reporting flaring from an ethylene compressor shutdown.
