HOUSTON (ICIS)--A US butadiene (BD) producer has nominated a 2 cent/lb increase for its October contract, sources confirmed on Tuesday.

The producer offered a nomination of 85 cents/lb ($1,874/tonne, €1,443/tonne), the second for the month.

The initial nomination called for a rollover of that producer’s 90 cent/lb September contract price.

There are two more nominations to be offered. Both producers had contract prices of 83 cents/lb in September.

Typically, nominations are offered for the BD contract ahead of the beginning of the month and then a settlement is reached.

North American producers of BD include ExxonMobil, LyondellBasell, Shell and TPC Group. North American buyers include Ashland, INVISTA, LANXESS, Michelin and Negromex.
