HOUSTON (ICIS)--US refiner Valero has begun planned maintenance at its Pembroke refinery in southwest Wales, UK, a company spokesman said on Wednesday.
The turnaround at the 270,000 bbl/day refinery has started on the crude unit.
Company spokesman Bill Day said other units would be idled during this time.
“Other production units, including the fluid catalytic cracking unit, are shutting down while the crude unit is down, but the crude unit is the only main production unit in the turnaround itself,” Day said.
In late July, the company said the turnaround will last for eight weeks. Valero does not disclose the specific start and end dates of its maintenance work.
