China's PetroChina Tarim Oilfield to build two fertilizer units

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s PetroChina Tarim Oilfield plans to start construction of its 450,000 tonne/year ammonia and 800,000 tonne/year urea units at Aksu in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in October 2012, a company source said on Thursday.

The plants, with a total investment of yuan (CNY) 3.4bn ($539m), will be located in Aksu Economic and Technological Development Zone, the source said.

The project will be completed in 30 months from the start of construction, the source added.
