China LLDPE futures rise 0.18% on stock market gains

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) futures increased slightly on Thursday, in line with gains in the Chinese stock market, industry sources said.

January LLDPE futures, the most actively traded contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE), closed at yuan (CNY) 10,640/tonne ($1,686/tonne), up by 0.18% or CNY20/tonne from Wednesday's settlement price of CNY10,620/tonne.

A total of 832,909 tonnes of LLDPE or 332,836 contracts for delivery in January 2013 were traded on Thursday, according to DCE data.

The Shanghai composite index rose by 52.15 points or 2.60% to close at 2,056.32 on Thursday.
