SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Aekyung Petrochemical is planning to shut all five of its phthalic anhydride (PA) lines at Ulsan for a week in October, for maintenance and catalyst change, a company source said on Friday.

Aekyung is currently running the PA lines, with a combined capacity of 210,000 tonnes/year, at 100% to build up stocks, the source said.

The planned shutdown will be from 14-20 October and will coincide with a scheduled maintenance at a utility plant in the Ulsan chemical complex, the source said.

Two of the five PA lines have a 30,000 tonne/year nameplate capacity each, while the remaining three lines have a 50,000 tonne/year nameplate capacity each.
