HOUSTON (ICIS)--Unigel plans to shut down its acrylonitrile (ACN) plant in Mexico in early October for 20 days, a company source said on Friday.
The company is shutting down the plant so it can conduct maintenance.
Because of the shutdown, ACN sales in October will be limited to the domestic market, with no additional material available for the spot market.
Other market sources are not sure what sort of impact the shutdown will have on the market, as it is relatively quiet.
According to ICIS plants and projects, the facility has a capacity of 60,000 tonnes/year of ACN.
