LONDON (ICIS)--INEOS ChlorVinyls will begin a one-month planned shutdown at its methylene chloride plant in Runcorn, UK, during the weekend of 6-7 October, a company source said on Monday.

Sufficient stocks have been built up to cover the producer’s contractual commitments during the annual maintenance turnaround, the source confirmed.

The plant has a nameplate capacity of 100,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS data.

Other methylene chloride producers in Europe include Solvay, AkzoNobel, KEM ONE, and Dow.
