Taiwan’s TSRC restarts 60,000 tonne/yr Kaohsiung BR plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s TSRC has restarted its 60,000 tonne/year butadiene rubber (BR) plant at Kaohsiung this week after completing maintenance at the unit, a company source said. on Tuesday.

“We restarted the BR plant yesterday [1 October] after shutting [it] down in September for scheduled maintenance,” the source said.

BR prices were assessed at $2,700-2,750/tonne (€2,106-2,145/tonne) CFR (cost and freight) northeast (NE) Asia in the week ended 27 September, according to ICIS.

BR is a raw material used to make tyres for the automotive industry.
