Caldic acquires Canadian food ingredients business

LONDON (ICIS)--Dutch chemicals distributor Caldic has completed the acquisition of Nealanders International, a Canadian distributor of food ingredients, the company said on Tuesday.

Nealanders employs 180 people and has an annual turnover of $180m (€148m), according to Caldic. A sale price was not disclosed

Nealanders is a Canadian supplier of raw materials for the food and personal care markets, including antioxidants, release agents and mineral enrichment blends.

Caldic posted a turnover of $815m in 2011, with 25% of its business that year related to the food industry.
