LONDON (ICIS)--SABIC Europe’s No 4 cracker at Geleen in the Netherlands has been offline since the 29-30 September weekend because of a technical problem, a company spokeswoman said on Wednesday.
“We had a problem with one of the cooling machines,” she said.
She added: “We stopped the cracker last weekend and are solving the issue as we speak. We plan to start up again this Friday [5 October].”
The cracker, which has the capacity to produce 675,000 tonnes/year of ethylene, is one of two operated by SABIC at the site. The other cracker, No 3, has a nameplate capacity of 575,000 tonnes/year of ethylene.
