US jet fuel inventories, consumption rise

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Consumption and stockpiles of jet fuel in the US increased for the week ended 28 September, a government agency said on Wednesday.

Jet fuel inventories gained 400,000 bbl to 44.4m bbl, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). The previous week’s inventories were at 44m bbl.

For the week ended 28 September, jet fuel consumption was at 1.493m bbl/day, a gain of 162,000 bbl/day from the previous week’s rate of 1.331m bbl/day.                                                                                       

Year on year, the cumulative daily average of jet fuel consumption was 1.2% lower, the EIA said.

Furthermore, jet fuel production rose by 59,000 bbl/day to 1.535m bbl/day for the week ended 28 September.
