LONDON (ICIS)--European October styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) prices have dropped by €30-80/tonne ($39-104/tonne) because of lower feedstock costs and poor demand, sources said on Wednesday.

Most sources expected larger monomer price falls last week and initial SBR price ideas for October were at €50-100/tonne decreases. In the end most buyers and sellers agreed at somewhat smaller reductions.

The price of 1500 grade SBR is at €2,130-2,180/tonne free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE), while 1723 grade is at €1,990-2,050/tonne FD NWE. The price of 1783 grade is at €1,950-2,000/tonne FD NWE.
