HOUSTON (ICIS)--Lubrizol plans to invest $125m (€98m) to build a resin and compounding facility in Deer Park, Texas, the US-based producer said on Thursday.
The plant, adjacent to an existing Lubrizol additives facility at Deer Park, will supply customers in the global building and construction markets after starting up in the fourth quarter of 2014, the company said.
The investment is the first step of a multi-phase plan to expand Lubrizol’s chlorinated polyvinyl chloride product capacities, it said. Capacity details were not disclosed.
“By expanding our manufacturing footprint, we are ensuring future technology requirements are met and our responses to changes in demand are well managed,” said Eric Schnur, president of Lubrizol’s advanced materials business.
“With this additional capacity, we will be in a much stronger position to better serve the needs of our existing and future customers globally," Schnur added.
