HOUSTON (ICIS)--A Trinidad methanol plant owned by Methanol Holdings (Trinidad) Limited (MHTL) has restarted after going down for maintenance in September, a source close to the plant said on Thursday.
MHTL’s 1.9m tonne/year M5000 unit is now operating following a turnaround that began around mid-September, the source said.
Earlier this week, a source said the 580,000 tonne/year M4 unit had also restarted as planned following a 15-day turnaround that began on or about 1 September.
Spot prices levelled off after rising in mid-September on news of the turnarounds, with prices now around 114.25 cents/gal, sources said.
