SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s CPC Corp plans to conduct trial run at its new residual fluid catalytic cracker (RFCC) at its Dalin refinery in late October, a company source said on Friday.

The start-up schedule of the RFCC has been postponed several times after its initial plan to start up in late May.

The RFCC can produce 400,000-450,000 tonnes/year of propylene and will mainly target domestic customers.

“We expect to achieve on-spec production in November,” the source said, adding that the company will need to export some propylene from November onwards.

Propylene spot cargoes were offered at $1,340-1,350/tonne (€1,032-1,040/tonne) CFR (cost & freight) northeast (NE) Asia on Friday, according to ICIS data.
