SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Tosoh Corp plans to restart its 400,000 tonne/year No 3 vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) plant on 11 October, a source close to the company said on Friday.

The unit has been undergoing maintenance since 31 August.

Following the restart of the No 3 plant, the company is due to shut its 250,000 tonne/year No 1 VCM facility on 21 October for around 40 days of turnaround.

VCM supply in the region is expected to remain tight because of ongoing and upcoming plant maintenances, market sources said.
