SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Indonesia’s PT Petrowidada plans to shut its 70,000 tonne/year phthalic anhydride (PA) plant at East Java, Gresik, on 7 October for five to six days as feedstock orthoxylene (OX) supply is running out, a source close to the company said on Friday.

The plant is currently running at 80% capacity, the source said.

Production will resume when the next OX supply arrives, estimated to be on 13-15 October, the source added.

The shutdown will not have any impact on the supply of PA from PT Petrowidada as the company has built up its inventory ahead of the shutdown, the source said.
