US September EO rises 1.80 cents/lb on higher ethylene

MEDELLIN, Colombia (ICIS)--US ethylene oxide (EO) contract values for September were assessed higher by 1.80 cents/lb ($40/tonne, €31/tonne) on Friday.

EO was assessed at 51.60-61.10 cents/lb, according to ICIS. The formula-based pricing is contingent upon the monthly ethylene contract settlement.

US ethylene contracts for September rose by nearly 5% this week, reflecting higher spot prices.

The settlement puts the September ethylene contract at 48.25 cents/lb, up by 2.25 cents/lb from August.
