SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>South Korea’s Yeochun NCC (YNCC) has settled its September butadiene (BD) contract at $2,005/tonne (€1,544/tonne), up by $10/tonne from the previous month, a company source said on Monday.
In August, the contract price settlement was $1,995/tonne pipeline DEL (delivered).
YNCC's monthly contract price settlement is based on the average spot BD values for that particular month.
BD spot prices weakened to $1,900-1,970/tonne CFR (cost & freight) northeast (NE) Asia in the week ended 5 October, down by $70-80/tonne from the previous week, according to ICIS data.
The BD price drop was due to limited buying interest as a major downstream synthetic rubber producer will be shut for three weeks for maintenance from 10 October and the China market was closed on 1-5 October for the National Day holiday.
